A Tale of Two Cities
April 28, 2008 | New Orleans, Louisiana | Vetting explained
This I-Report is from Thomas Warren. I am a senior Broadcast Journalism student from Howard University.
What does it mean to be Black in America? While many of us spend our day trying to find meaning to that question, Carrie Handy spends her day trying to make it to the next. Although her's is a story about constant struggle, it's also a story about pressing on in the face of despair, and having faith that better days will come. That's what it means to be Black in America.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
