As CNN reported yesterday there is a mysterious acorn shortage from Virginia to Connecticut. For those of us who have bird feeders, we spend money and effort to keep the squirrels out. For some it's even an epic struggle. Though, now with the acorn shortage it may be time for bird feeders to embrace our furry-tailed foes. At http://www.birdfeederfriends.com you can read the blog post "Acorn Shortage in the Northeast: How Will this Effect Your Bird Feeder?" and weigh in on whether or not you should help the local squirrels make it through the acorn shortage. Unfortunately, it looks as though an acorn bailout will not pass the senate.
