NOTES TO CNN PRODUCERS/DIRECTOR/TD/GRAPHICS PRODUCERS

I claim no responsibility for spelling. The names of public officials and the name of

nicholsville can most likely be checked online.

Top and bottom lower thirds are provided for most of the story.

Lower third:

Tent City Homeless Shelter

Near U of W, Seattle, WA

Homeless people fall victim to countless stereotypes.

Allegedly, they are lazy people who lack intelligence.

Allegedly, they chose to make nothing of their lives.

--graphic -- nothing could be further from the truth

(quote from former marine)

lower third:

aaron

homeless marine corps veteran

It's called Nicholsville - having been named after Seattle Mayor Greg Nichols.

The mayor has, over the past several months, moved tent city from place to place,

and even tried to shut it down.

Lower Third:

Shelter has Tents and Donated Kitchen

Has been moved several times by city police

They had moved four times in less than three weeks. That was before the presidential

election.

Some of the homeless individuals within tent city believe that

Mayor Nichols has no authority to move tent city around.

Reportedly, he has issued executive orders to the city police department, to move tent

city from place to place, without approval of the city council.

quote

Not everyone chooses to live here. If they had a choice, not many people would.

(quote from man in chair regarding back injury and roomate)

lower third:

xavier-alexis

Many people have been left behind by Wall St. Main St. has suffered dramatically.

But for these homeless individuals, Main St. might be a different street tomorrow than

it is today.

(quote from xavier-same lower third above, we're all just human beings)

At tent city, in Seattle Washington, I'm Nathan, a video journalism student. I report

for CNN.
