After the presents are opened & the giftwrap put away~ the feasts are now leftovers and the feeling of friendship, harmony and peace have filled our homes, lets take a moment or five in silence for those who aren't with us ~ this first Christmas without Bill, American T, Mike, Nerine and one unnamed place. There are four people we know of who've passed away in Korea under terrible conditions~ Bill Kapoun, American "T", Mike White, Nerine Viljeon, and the fifth place is for those who've passed but the expat community at large may not know about them, yet their family & friends will still mourn their first holiday season without their presence. By taking just a few minutes in silence, prayer or mediation, we are reflecting upon the joys these folks have brought into our lives, and the lessons we've learned at their passing. There have been some positive lessons about humanity, humility and compassion as these tragic stories have moved us to act on their behalf~ beyond nationalities, across cultural divides, we helped, we cried and we mourned for them. Now on Dec 27th, at the time for your zone, let's remember them together and may we find a bit of solace for our own hearts. Wherever you are ~ Just for five minutes, light a candle, say a prayer or just have a moment of silence ~ The event time is listed as Korean Standard Time~9:22pm:> EST 7:22 am, Johannesburg 2:22pm, Sydney 11:22pm all on Dec 27th. This is a global event and all are welcome. Facebook event link: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=106206790330 http://www.mightiemike.com
