Volcanoes National Park - Jagger Museum Murals
December 28, 2008 | Big Island, Hawaii | Vetting explained
Overlooking Kilauea Caldera and Halema'uma'u Crater, is the historic Jaggar Museum, displaying some very dramatic murals depicting Pele, the Goddess of Fire, and the ancient Polynesian volcano rituals. The museum has many interesting exhibits about volcanoes, types of lava, stories and history of the Big Island volcanoes, and remains an active workplace of geologists and volcanologists.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
