iReport —
The last days of 2008 saw a wonderful gathering of our Moon with a few of our neighbouring planets in the evening sky. On this photo taken December 30th at 5 pm notice that all of them pretty much follow a straight line . Known as the ecliptic, or planetary pathway, this line represents the plane of our solar system. Its amazing how much of the universe you can see just by looking up with your unaided eyes. Happy International Year of Astronomy everyone! www.TheNightSkyGuy.com
