Jessica died in a car accident at 6:15 AM on June 27, 2007 at age 18. She was on her way to work at the YMCA where she loved on kids all day long. She made a silly mistake and pulled out in front of a truck...it was totally her fault. The event seemed like such a waste ...yet...her life had so much impact. We received over 20 letters and emails that were hugely significant in addition to over 600 cards. It seemed that everyone that new Jess (Bee Bop as her Dad new her) could not write about her without also writing about Jesus Christ. This is not a popular message today and not politically correct...yet even the Travolta's mention faith and prayer. The old, old story of faith was/is what keeps us going. Our world need to re-embrace it. The following words were written about Jessica and posted to facebook by a friend at ETSU. "Jessica....was amazing. Probably the best person I ever had the privaledge to know. So pure in heart it seemed impossible. She was absolutly driven to follow the calling to be a missionary that she hardly took time to eat, for the sake of studying to pursue her calling. If there ever was someone who would have made a difference, would have made a lasting impact upon this world, it was Jessica and her amazing earrings. I will never forget you. You are an inspiration." With all do respect to the author...who said such nice things as to make this Dad so proud...he was wrong...she did make an impact...or he would have never stopped to write those words. God is real....her Dad struggles to always believe this...but He is real! We set up a foundation called The Jessica Marie Hamilton Foundation for Africa's children. The purpose of the foundation is to reward a $1,000 annual scholorship to another missionary minded person.
