Ohhhh here we go!
January 5, 2009 | lincoln, Nebraska | Vetting explained
Chicago and Denver here we come! What a great year for the Dead to hit the road.
We have a new "just off the shelf" president in Barak Obama, some clear optimism for the future of this country, and hey....gas prices for that VW bus are looki'n pretty good about now.
Not every note is so happy though, and with some things totally headed toward the proverbial septic tank, a Grateful Dead tour can only help to blow some fresh air past our noses....and ears.
I haven't heard the Dead for four long....really long years, since their "Wave The Flag" tour in 2004. I promised my thirteen year old daughter that someday I would take her to a show with me, and now it looks like we will be heading up to Chicago first, and hopefully to Denver second.
I hope to see some old friends, and god knows we'll probably caravan up there with a whole troupe of folks from Lincoln Nebraska. Good times and good music!
(here are a couple picts' from "Wave That Flag" tour. July, 2004, Alpine Valley, East Troy Wisconsin.)
