surviving the economic times
January 11, 2009 | muscatine, Iowa | Vetting explained
i am survivng the economic losses that we have faced as a ten year member of a large corporation(HNI) i am relieved to still have my job after they have layed off 500 people 100 of them before the first of the year then after the new year returning to work on jan 5 we layed off another 400 people so far my husband and i have both been able to keep our jobs it may mean working short work weeks but that is better then not working at all. i will however for the first time ever have to apply for unemployment as we were told that the week of jan 26 we will not be working and possibly a week in feb and march the outlook of the economy is not looking good so we are face to look at short weeks.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
