iReporter Krazy On Celebrity TV Show
January 12, 2009 | Vetting explained
Our very own CNN ireporter Krazykizza Carling is appearing on British National Television on the 16 January (Channel E4 at 6pm (gmt), and live from 9pm (gmt) on channel 4.). Krazy will be among the live audience in Celebrity Big Brother, which features a number of celebrities including singer LaToya Jackson, rapper Coolio, mini-me star Verne Troyer, and tv presenter Ulrika Jonsson. The real person behind Krazy will get a chance to interact with presenter George Lamb, who frequently moves among the audience asking for their opinions on the celebrities ‘imprisoned' within the Big Brother House.
As an avatar, Krazy has been an ireporter for CNN in Second Life for the past year and I have watched his progression from his first written reports, which have always been newsworthy and entertaining, to his advancement into making films in SL, doing an excellent job at narrating in his own casual manner. Krazy, who is currently a student, and busy taking his ‘A' level qualifications, hopes eventually to have a career in the media.
He told me about the Big Brother program saying ‘Well, Big Brother has a company that gathers the audience; they are called ‘The Applause Store'. They give free tickets out to just about anyone to fill the crowd for many shows like Big brother, ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire' and ‘The X factor'. I myself phoned up and was given four priority pass tickets to see BBLB (Big Brother's Little Brother) and then (to) stop on for the eviction night with Davina (show host Davina McCall). We have to be there for about 4pm ready to sign the ‘be on TV' sorta waver and get seated in the studio. The studio itself is at Elstree, Borhamwood (England) so it's about a 100 mile treck for me.'
I asked Krazy if he had a favourite celebrity to win the show and he told me he wanted Verne Troyer to be the overall winner. Verne is doing great in the show, he gets on well with all the other housemates and is proving to be popular with the viewers as well. I asked Krazy who would he want to see voted out next and he said he least liked Ulrika Jonsson, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Up until now Krazy has been a main player with CNN in Second Life and has a great personality himself. He has good input at the meetings that CNN hold ‘in-world' each week and I will look forward to the Big Brother show to see if he gets picked by presenter George to give his views on the program.
