Liberation Day in the Netherlands.
Every year the Netherlands celebrates its freedom. On the fifth of
May 1945 World War II came to an end in the Netherlands. Since then
the fifth of may is called Liberation Day. Most people have a day
off to celebrate cultural events, or to have a nice day at home.
Not everyone has a day off though, only once every five year this
day is an official day off for all inhabitants of the country. To
bring the message of peace and liberation to the level of youth,
thirtheen Popfestivals are held in different parts of the country.
On the video an impression of the popfestival in Vlissingen.
