You have reported on the general plight of thousands of inaugural ticketholders unable to get into the inauguration. However, you failed to mention the tens of thousands of people directed to wait in the D street tunnel by DC police, and then left for hours as the tunnel filled to the brim with people unable to get out, with no heat, food, or water, no bathrooms, no crowd control. I arrived at the purple gate, according to directions, at 7:00 am, and was told to descend into the tunnel after an officer checked my purple ticket. That was the last time I saw an authority figure or anyone telling the crowd what to do. I finally burst from the tunnel with tens of thousands of others after 11:00 am, after 4 hours trapped underground without a single word of information or a single person to check on us, to find the gates closed and not a single policeman, volunteer, or security agent on site. I missed every single word of inauguration, but even scarier was the callous disregard for human health, safety, and even life for the tens of thousands left underground.
