20 Apples and 25-30 years later
January 22, 2009 | Ocean City, New Jersey | Vetting explained
I purchased my first Apple II Computer in 1978 - before they even went public - it was an Apple II not a "+" or later. IT had 4K memory that I boosted to 16K and used a cassette recorder for data. I had to wait months for a 128K floppy drive.
In 1984, I bought the first 128K Macintosh which only had a floppy drive as well. I then added another and eventually upgraded them to 512K and purchased an external 1200 MD Hardrive.
In the years since, I have had Performas, Bondi Blue iMacs, eMacs, the first portables, iMac portables and ow iBooks and Power Books. With 5 children, I have NEVER owned a PeeeCeee. ANd there was a time when my children were upset witht he lack of programs and games available for our Macs. But now that having a Mac is "cool" - having a home network with a half dozen macs running off an Apple Time Machine - I guess they are now happy.
And yes, I did get the iPhone on opening day and a 3G on the day those were first available as well.
I have my own iMac (snowball) on my desk at work where everyone else has PeeCees. And when my son won a PeeCee laptop, he said " I want a mac."
I have recently converted my pastor to the mac world and see an iPhone in his future as well.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
