Although I don't think America will ever forget the celebration of its growing up, the at least high school graduation celebration for America with the inauguration of our first African-American President, I wanted to commemorate my historic trip to Washington D.C.  Naturally, I took over 500 photos to share which will help me to never forget my trip.  But Day 7, last day of my trip, I woke up with a new thought that I surely hadn't arrived in D.C. with, to get a tattoo.  New thoughts are good in the year America voted for CHANGE!  Although I have a few tattoos (all from different cities and all have special meaning) - I did not travel to Washington D.C. with the intention of a tattoo and surely not a drawing of the Obama hope symbol.  All of my tattoos are unique so surely NOT the Obama hope symbol.  However, I woke with it in my spirit as I reflected on a historic trip, watching reruns of my now favorite CNN reality show (thanks Khalid) - The Obamas.  LOL!  I got up last morning of my trip, found a shop online, made a few calls and in a few hours - I was with artist Alex Campbell of DC Ink Tattoo Shop.  What better way to NOT forget than to have the hope symbol on my arm, a reminder of the unique celebration and a reminder of the work I've committed to myself - to better my future and America's future.  And to think that I was initially a Hillary supporter!   What a journey this has been!
