Aftermath of CCTV Annex & hotel fire
February 10, 2009 | Beijing, China | Vetting explained
I've been working across the street from the CCTV building for over a year and watching the structures being erected. Having seen the fire break out and rapidly spread last night, coming in this morning obviously provided a new and disturbing view of the CCTV annex. Although the structure is intact and looks eerily familiar, looking more closely the massive damage caused by the fire can be seen - the metal siding has been burnt away, windows burned out, and metal twisted. The sheer power of the fire is obvious even from 500m away.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
