Noose Ruined Mother's Day
My 3 daughters (13, 19, 21) and I planned a suprise mother's day
brunch at what we heard was a really nice resteraunt called The
Fort in Morrison Colorado. Our reservation was at 1:30 but we
arrived early at about 1:00 and let them know that we had arrived.
About 40 minutes later we aksed about a table and they said it
would be 5 more minutes. We were finally seated, and proceeded to
the buffet line. Once we sat down we decided to take some pictures
of the family at the table. In one of the pictures we noticed a
noose right above my wifes head. When we aksed the waiter why the
noose was there, he replied that "This is the table where we sit
our customers who dont tip very well." Feeling offended
immediately, my wife replied "Unfortunately, we always tip well".
The waiter proceeded to walk away. We also noticed sinckers and
giggles coming from the other wait staff near our table.
My wife and I are African American. Contrary to the popular
stereotype, my wife and I always tip very well.
This made us feel very uncomfortable and utterly humiliated
in front of the other customers and staff. Although our day was
completely runined we tried not to let these circumstances steal
our joy and remained calm.
