I am located on almost every social networking site you can think of. If there is one, I am probably on it in some way shape or form. Reason being is that I am a professional musician.

Originally, the reason for joining these social networking sites was for marketing and networking purposes within our fanbase, and to expand that fanbase. It then became incredibly popular for our band and these fans now wanted a closer relationship with the members of our band.

I started my own personal facebook, myspace, and so on and found myself blogging about my things that were taking place in my personal life from the death of a friend or family member, to the birth of my nephew all the way to the UPS and DOWNS of my everyday life and the struggles I encounter with juggling the life of a musician who travels 9 months out of the year verse the son, brother, friend and boyfriend that I am as well who only gets to live that life 3 months out of the year.

Anyhow, I found myself connecting and making some real life long friends. It would start with someone connecting with a blog I wrote, which would lead to conversation, which would lead to meeting them when I came to town on tour which has now lead me to true friendships with these people. We know keep in touch via email and text message.

I am one scenario of how this has enriched my life altho I know this would now work for everyone. Not everyone feels comfortable opening themselves up in these ways. For me, its kind of a personal therapy.

Also, you will never see me post my address, phone number, social security etc online however, everything above that is fair game.
