Man with Gun to his Head on the 190 in Standoff with Buffalo Police

Currently, in Buffalo, NY there is a man with a gun to his head surrounded by Buffalo Police on Interstate 190, a major highway that loops around the downtown Buffalo area.

After a routine traffic stop it is said that the man exited his vehicle with a gun. The police are currently at a standoff with the man.

According to local Buffalo news channel WGRZ, officers pulled the man over shortly after 6pm.

Dooley O'Rourke of WGRZ is reporting the suspect looks agitated and is holding a silver pistol in one hand and a cell phone in his other hand.

People around Niagara and Ontario streets in Buffalo were told to leave their vehicles after police arrived on the scene.

The 190 has been closed in both directions from Amherst to Niagara Street.
