Obama, DON'T stop outsourcing

Anim8or, in a post titled "Obama, STOP OUTSOURCING," argued that outsourcing is the thing undermining the American economy (link: http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-218019) I disagree. In fact, if it weren't for outsourcing, we wouldn't be having this conversation, as computers wouldn't be available for less than $500.00, leading to far fewer computers being sold and the lack of a business model for iReport. This would also have a negative effect on me as a computer programmer, as nearly ubiquitous computers creates more demand for my services. American companies NEED to think globally, which means they have to have a global supply chain that mixes American sourced parts with those from foreign sources. Failure to do so will make America less globally competitive, which will be absolutely deadly long term as we are a mere 300 million out of a global population of 6.5 billion. There are better ways to help Americans than to hobble American companies in their quest to be globally competitive.
