Situation in Afghanistan

Losses among the American military men in Afghanistan in January and February have made 29 persons. Ten of them were undermined on mines. It three times more than for the similar period of last year. The official representative of command has the day before informed on it the American contingent in Afghanistan colonel Greg Dzhulian.
In its opinion, growth of losses is caused by escalating of number of a contingent. Now in Afghanistan are approximately 38 thousand persons, on a quarter more than one year ago. The transfer of an additional contingent is planned.
