All across California today, May 14, 2008, the Day of the Teacher, rallies were held in support of NO CUTS to California's budget. Education, healthcare, firefighters and state parks are only a few of the many that would be affected by the proposed cuts.

Leggett Valley Schools in Leggett, California (population 300) came together and rallied in support of NO CUTS to education. Led by the Leggett Association of Teachers, a local of the California Teachers Association, the first stop was at the corner of HWY 1 and HWY 101 in northern Mendocino County where staff, parents, students and a board member showed their support of NO CUTS. From 4PM to 6PM all across the state of California there were educational rallies. At 4PM, Leggett Valley School teachers, aides, bus drivers, maintenance, parents, students, board member, superintendent and community convened at the Peg House on HWY 101 just north of HWY 1.
