Four years ago, my then husband and I went through a pretty rough divorce.  I had done the unimaginable and cheated on my husband once and our marriage ended.  Craig, my ex husband, fought me tooth and nail for custody of our 2 daughters.  After almost a year of lawyers, courtrooms, and parenting plans, we came to a joint custody arrangement.  I was very upset with Craig for fighting me so hard for our children, but in the end it seems that it all has worked out.

Fast forward 4 years to today.  I am now remarried to a man named Mathew and he helps raise my 2 daughters from my previous marriage.  Three months ago with the economy spiralling downward, Craig, Mathew and I made a decision to help all of us.  Craig has a house that has 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.  It is just one level.  Mathew and I moved into the house with Craig to help us all with finances and parenting our two daughters.  Craig and Mathew get along excellent; they have really fixed up the house together since we all came under one roof.  The girls enjoy having all their parents in one house.  We get quite the remarks when we explain our living arrangement to people.  They cannot believe that we all live together in peace, most of the time.  Craig's mother, my ex-mother-in-law, is a huge support system for us.  She supports us in our living arrangement, especially since she technically owns the house.  She, too, has quite a unique living arrangement.  Lyla's ex husband, Bruce, is living in her basement as of about 6 years ago.

So as you can see, we are a family sticking together, no matter what the circumstances are or were.  We do this so our families can survive and I believe that it is having a very positive effect on all of us.
