iReport —

These images were taken Tuesday evening up to Thursday AM, the river has been rising roughly 3 feet a day.

A clay dike will be built through the Rose Creek development of south Fargo (south of 40th ave) this afternoon as a contingency dike.

Volunteers and neighbors have been sandbagging and reinforcing the sandbag dikes built over the past weekend. City engineers keep telling volunteers to take it the height of the dikes up another foot. Currently the sandbag dikes have been topped off at 43 feet and are being reinforced from behind to support the dikes.

The Salvation Army and volunteers have been tremendous support, from feeding to filling sandbags, delivering sandbags and throwing them down the lines behind the homes.

Fargo has received nearly 8 inches of snow since Tuesday night, temperatures are hovering around 20 degrees as day time temps, and snow and wind continue off and on.
