Buy out retirement at GM as good as AIG bonuses

http://money.cnn.com/2009/03/26/news/companies/gm_buyouts/index.htm?postversion=2009032613 Quotes from this CNN article, "More than 90% of those taking the package are eligible for retirement and will receive full pension and health care coverage, in addition to the buyout package, which includes $20,000 in cash and a $25,000 voucher towards the purchase of a GM car in most cases."
Isn't GM taking tax payer bailout money? People were outraged at AIG bosses getting big money.
But be a unionized auto worker who's company is taking bailout money you get healh care and retirement for life, $20,000 cash and a voucher for a new car and no one in government cares
I thought the pension and healthcare was what was killing GM...now they give more of it away?

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
