CBS Thinks Viewers Don't Matter In a move reminiscent of the first season cancelation of JERICHO, CBS has once again put viewers on the warpath by canceling their award-winning Friday night show MOONLIGHT. Nielsen consistently showed the show rating higher than average and this helped CBS win their Friday night spot right along side Ghost Whisperer. Moonlight also won the People's Choice Award.During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, CBS Entertainment President, Nina Tassler said that a goal of CBS was to lure more female viewers. Can't say that canceling Moonlight is a great way to work on that goal, Nina. No peanuts this time but Moonlight fans have gone so far as to start a blood drive in support of their favorite show. Details at http://www.moonlightblooddrive.org/ Other sites dedicated to the show and it's actors have encouraged fans to write to the CW, SciFi Channel, Warner Brothers, USA Network and FOX in an attempt to find a last minute deal for another network to pick up the show. Executive Producer Joel Silver (the Matrix) had hoped this would be the heir apparent to Buffy/Angel but in my opinion, Moonlight has taken on a life of it's own. To me, it looked like a remake of the 90's "Forever Knight" and somewhere I read where Moonlight waswhat Forever Knight could've been assumably with the right budget. So, Moonlight was made. 8 million fans thought it was worth something but apparently CBS thinks they know better than their viewers. Here's what Matt Roush of TV Guide had to say: "There was lots of untapped potential on this show. CBS blew it with this one." I am nothing but a viewer but I know what I like and I like MOONLIGHT!
