iReport —

I appreciate and love my inlaws and outlaws.

I just want to say this first thing.

My daughter and her family traveled to Georgia to visit with my son- inlaws parents.

They had all sorts of wonderful plans for the grandkids, Six Flags, skating and little to my knowledge the shooting range.

I make no bones where I stand on gun laws. I have heard and reheard the pros and cons.

My older brother and I go head to head on the issues.

I was really upset when my daughter told me my son inlaw and his step dad took two of the kids to the shooting range.

Needless to say my daughter did not go.

I have personal reasons for better gun control that I do not care to share.

I am not much of a debater, but hope the rest of you knock your self out.

After talking to my son inlaw  I have backed off a bit. I do agree that children need to know the proper way to handle a gun, how to unload one and make sure the safety is on, or what ever they might need to know  in am emergency situation. You never know when a child may be at someone else's home and come face to face with a gun. Or they could come across one  while playing outside. If they know the dangers, if they understand  the rules and how to's they are not as apt to be as curious.

Although I am thankful I did not know when my grandchildren were out on a shooting range, I am glad they had the opportunity to see, handle and shoot the guns and have some valuable lessons in the process.
