iReport —

My 21 year old son survived a softball size brain tumor at the age of four. The tumor was a craniopharingioma. The eleven hour surgery was successful and to our relief it was not malignant. However it did rob him of his eyesight. The tumor was lodged between the optic nerves causing them to stretch therefore the nerve could not transmit the message to the brain. He did have to have radiation to eradicate about 5% which could not be removed by surgery. I am happy to report he is now a college sophomore and quite independent!
