I was judged by my looks when I was a kid.
April 16, 2009 | California | Vetting explained
When I was really young, I was judged a lot. I never smiled in my pictures because my teeth were really crooked. I remember being called piranha teeth at times. So, until veneers came along I always smiled like Mona Lisa. But, I think it all boils down to economics. We were really poor and I think when people have very little they become easy targets for judgment. To this day I hate mirrors. I never go to hair salons nor do I go to gyms because I hate the thought of looking in one. I think when people are judged by their looks especially when they are kids it stays with you for a long time. OCgirl

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
