Anybody wonder why most radio stars are known more for their looks and not for their music. There were so many amazing singers and performers in the past. Freddy Mercury, Aretha Franklin, Mama Cass, and James Brown. Some were fat, some had funny hair and some were not so good looking in the public eye. But that didn't matter. They were musicians and singers. They made great music.

So what Killed the music over looks? As the song goes, "Video Killed the Radio Star." Thanks to MTV, VH1 and other various "Music Television" networks, the radio star died. It is now about looks first, then the music, and third is probably how well you can lip sinch in a video.

Sadly, the Disney channel has latched on to this idea. The kids want to be Miley Cirus and Zac Efron. These kids are manufactured and used for as long as they sell and then they are tossed aside only to be replaced by someone new, fresh but ultimately the same.

As the great punk artist Jello Biafra would say "MTV, Get Off The Air, NOW!"
