iReport —

Has anyone else noticed the dichotomy of those who loudly oppose gun control, yet scream about controlling the proliferation of nukes in the hands of nations like Iran and North Korea.  Why is it that they do not apply the same reasoning to these nations. The right to protect oneself is universal.  I personally don't call it a good idea for these countries to have these weapons, but I can see what might be their motivation for wanting them.  It might be that having a nuclear Iran might actually bring stability to the region.  Remember the only nation to have ever used the bomb in an act of aggression is the US.

The moment a nation has these weapons they are automatically catapulted into the forefront of world power.  They also become impervious to invasion by other nations.  In fact, the rest of the world has to sit down and include them in talks about international security.  It's very similar to owning guns.  Isn't it?
