Hilton Head Island 10,000 Bicycles
Visiting Hilton Head Island (the name was given by Capt. William Hilton, around 1663 when he first discovered this island, traveling on his ship Adenture, from Barbados...), in South Carolina, one can see thousands of people on bicycles. Given the size of U.S. will be difficult that bicycles will replace inter-city travel and long range vehicles rides, but in inner city, the old bicycles can be a good alternative to saving fuel and exercise. These pictures were taken at one rental location, with more than 3,000 bicycles in stock. Maybe in all the island are more than 10,000 bicycle serving aprox. 2.25 million visitors/year.
