TX Hwy Robbery
May 5, 2009 | San Antonio, Texas | Vetting explained
Back in the mid 80’s while driving through Texas I-10E heading to Atlanta to my first job -it so happens with CNN- I was pulled over for speeding East of El Paso in a small rural town.
The TX Hwy patrol suggested I go to detention or pay my fine “now.” He handed me a ticket + official envelope addressed to the local court.
I had a Calf. licenese and I told him I had no cash. No problem… the officer escorted me to a convenience store ATM where I pulled over $100, and put it inside the envelope as the officer watched me dropped it in a mail box. CASH!
Uhmmmm....

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
