Santa Barbara Jesusita Fire
May 7, 2009 | Santa Barbara, California | Vetting explained
These two shots show the firestorm that occured yesterday afternoon and the status of the fire this morning.
The first photo shows the results of yesterday's winds. The second photo shows the blaze just as the winds kicked in, fanning the fire in all directions.
With a High pressure cell to the wet and a low pressure cell to the east, Santa Barbara is caught in an egg-beater situation with respect to the wind.
More of the same is expected for today and tonight, Thursday, May 7th.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
