Lady Liberty
May 8, 2009 | Liberty Island, New York | Vetting explained
I took this photo of Lady Liberty on my first visit to New York City in March of 2006. I was in awe of her size & beauty & must have taken 100 shots at various angles. In the end, this one shot was my favorite, as it showed the artistic detail work that was put into her.
In September 2006, I entered it in KODAK's picture of the day contest. I was thrilled when they contacted me that I won. The prize was the honor of having it shown on KODAK's electronic billboard in Time Square on September 11, 2006 along with my name. It was up for 24 hours & is one of my favorite moments as an amateur photographer.
