iReport —

I love astronomy and used to be a amateur astro-photographer.  Space has always fascinated me, and the first time I saw saturn with my own eyes, through a viewfinder is an experience I will always remember.

The first picture I took with a canon camera held up to a viewfinder of an Orion telescope.  Its one of my more favorite full moon shots.

The second picture of the sun was taken with a CCD, solar filter, and my orion scope as well.  There is a very prominent sunspot in the middle of the shot.

The third is one of the few shots I have of Jupiter's red spot.  Its also my favorite shot to date.

The fourth is Saturn.  I have the utmost respect for people who take these beautiful shots of saturn.

The fifth shot is a B&W of M42, or the Orion Nebulae.  I used an OIII filter on this, and tried to emphasize the depth, the 4 stars in the center, and just some gaseous clouds.
