Rappelling Exercise
May 12, 2009 | Lakewood, Colorado | Vetting explained
Lakewood, Colorado -- (iReport) Emergency services workers from around the Denver, Colorado area converged on the campus of Red Rocks Community College for a day of rescue drills. Using the main campus building as a base, the firemen practiced various techniques for getting themselves and their gear down the sides of steep structures and rock faces.
Every few months the fire academy runs a variety of exercises in conjunction with the college. Red Rocks Community College, a state operated institution, offers education for firemen, emergency medical technicians and a large variety of other programs, including a new certification in solar energy technology.
