CNN I-Report Movie Review Of Terminator Salvation Sneak Preview. 5/18/09 by Rajiim Gross

Terminator Fans.......Don't get Excited just yet. This latest installment of The Terminator Stars Christian Bale as John Connor. Salvation is about John Connor leading the resistance against Skynet. You don't See Christian Bale for almost the first 15 minutes or so. What you do see is a man Who doesn't know he's a Terminator trying to find out where he belongs in today's world after being "asleep" since 2003.....Today being the year 2018. To me this film lacks the "Oh Hell Yeah" factor. The film has it's moments. I found this film rather boring in many places. The dialogue was dry and in need of some help. The Script just didn't flow like past Terminator Films or for that much the late Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The film did have spectacular visual and special effects! It also paid tribute to past Terminator films with the use of Classic one liners 'I'll be back" and "Come with me if you want to live". The Most notable tribute was John Connor Playing his boombox blasting Guns N Roses "You Could Be Mine" his favorite song from his youth (T-2). The film wouldn't be a Legitimate Terminator Film Installment without the Appearance of the T-800....The Arnold Model! The T-800 Kicks John Connor's butt on screen for a few minutes before getting "Terminated". Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger kept his promise and did not return to Hollywood to appear in this film. Director McG pulled a body-cast mold of the actor out of storage after 25 years and used it as the basis for a CGI likeness. An actor provided the motion capture movement and then Arnold's face was laid over the movements to create the T-800. You do see the T-1's which made their first appearance in T-3....however they are just slightly different to Stan Winston's design from T-3. The New Terminator Machines Were Really Cool! The Terminator That The Cycles were part of was Great. The HK's (Hunter Killer's) were cool up close as well. You See The T-600's which were rather primitive and the production of the T-800's. We Finally see SKYNET. Terminator Salvation was viewed by many as the Film that ties all of the films together and gives some closure. Skynet dies, Connor Leads The Resistance to Victory, and Terminator comes to an end....NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE is evident here. This film is leaves more loose ends. If they don't make a Sequel to this I will be very upset. This appears to be just another Chapter in the series....The movie ends Prepping you for the next one. I really expected more "Oh Hell Yeah" moments from this film. I won't go back to see this again. I will buy the DVD to add to my Terminator Collection.  I Give this film a B-.
