Rattlesnake Encounter
June 19, 2009 | San Jose, California | Vetting explained
I was walking on the trail in Santa Teresa County Park when I heard this guy's rattling and hissing a couple of feet ahead of me, in the grass. I hastily backed up, but after a couple of minutes staring at each other, I had to go ahead so I slipped quietly past him. He got quite upset - maybe when my shadow passed over him - and jumped in the middle of the trail. Armed and dangerous.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
