GOLF CART TO WORK
I read the article on folks biking to work and my roommates and I
had the same idea with recent gas prices skyrocketing, but being
the engineers that we are, we thought to have some fun with it.
Instead of driving or biking to work, we purchased a run down,
electric golf cart off craigslist.com that wasn't working and
turned that in to our commuting vehicle. Our home is only 1 mile
from work and we have a path that provides us safe, easy access to
work. We refurbished the cart, added a new motor, new interior, a
backseat cooler, a lift kit, and other unnecessary accessories all
to save money on gas. Provided are some before and after pictures
of the cart. There are three of us that commute together on the
cart. We're happy to say that the only liquid we're consuming when
riding in the golf cart is not gas...only beer.
