I've translated a few of the Iranian people's slogans. Second batch posted 6/24/09 here: http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-281703. Third batch here: http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-285635

This first one is the main response to Ahmadinejad's calling the protestors nothing more than 'dust and dirt'. It's a modified version of a famous Rumi poem.

Corresponds to image #1:

YOU'RE just riffraff, lower than dirt,

I'm the aching lover, blazing and lit.

You're the black halo, oppressive and blind,

I'm the brave hero and this land is mine!

____________

Image #2:

I'm not afraid of death, I fear living; 3 days have passed...

#3:

We're IDOL-breakers, not glass-breakers.

#4:

Evin prison: Now admitting students

#5:

My silence howls.

#6:

If my silence so shakes the dictator to his core, then what will my OUTCRIES do?

#7:

It's nighttime and our country's face is dim,
Living with this darkness is what's a sin

#8:

We write Moussavi; they read Ahmadi

#9:

Lie recipient

#10:

Regime of Coup d'état, abdicate, abdicate!
