FREE THE WEED!!!
July 2, 2009 | new orleans, Louisiana | Vetting explained
Marijuana should definitely be legalized. Up until this day there has been no logical explaination as to why it was made illegal in the first place. The only people who want to keep it's use prohibited are either not educated on the topic of marijuana or they simply has some vested interests in it's prohibition (big pharma, alcohol co., tabacco co., law enforcement agencies, oil co., prison industries, drug cartels, etc.). Once you cut through the propaganda the truth is clearly visible. And that truth is that marijuana is not a drug but an herb and that public safety/health has nothing to do with why it was made illegal. My opinion is that it's prohibition is nothing more than population control and greed by certain entities. What is worse than alcohol and tabacco? They combined kill more people than anything known to man, yet they are perfectly legal. This is nonsense. Down right insanity. Throughout the history of the world marijuana has been used without one recorded death, not one. The gateway theory is also nonsense for this theory doesn't hold people accountable for their own decisions. I know many marijuana users myself included who have never tried any other drugs . To me it's not about being able to just get stoned, it's about oour rights as Americans. Free the weed!

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
