iReport —

Today is Independence Day and how proper to celebrate with the Honduran people.  Before you discount this struggle of a brave people, please read this letter my friend has copied to me. Please understand the sacrifice , the courage and what they must feel like now. It wasn’t just another banana republic coup. I have sent this letter to Senator Martinez, Senator Nelson and Congressperson Wasserman_Schultz

Subject: RE: HONDURAS TO PRESIDENT OBAMA   CIRCULAR ENTRE TODOS TUS AMIGOS Y FIRMAR URGENTE

Dear President Obama,

Please listen and pay extreme attention to HONDURAS.  HONDURAS is pleading for help.

Our past-President, Mr. Manuel Zelaya wants to nullify our Constitution.  He wants to change our country to communism.  The whole country is reluctant.  Probably the way it was managed was incorrect, but it was the only way he would listen.  It was the only way the world would see how he wanted to destroy our democracy.

We could have never been wrong with your ideology.  Please do not tell me you do agree with Cuban or Venezuelan governments under Communism.

Mr. Obama, today, you are one of the most important men in the world and in charge of the most powerful country, therefore in charge of the world-peace and mankind well-being.

Mr. President, please study the whole situation carefully and diligently.  We are positive you know what is going on.  You do have Ambassadors like Mr. Lloveras, or in the past, Mr. Negroponte, who know the people in Honduras and also know that we are peaceful and good-hearted.

Mr. President, please help us to avoid a civil war, killing amongst brothers, avoid other governments like Nicaraguan, Venezuelan or Cuban interfering with our situation, trying to overpower us.  It is all in your hands. HONDURAS wants to be a free country in deep need of development.

Our past President, Mr. Zelaya never paid attention to the poor, or the homeless, or the earthquake victims, neither to the strikes, or unemployment, or the gangs or kidnapping and assassinations or starving families.  His only concern was changing us to become similar to Cuba and Venezuela.  We do not have good highways or public services or homeland-security, but we are on the way to developing through education.  Please help us avoid further delays by keeping democracy and freedom.

Sincerely,
Rosemary Pell
