Merciless Fire at Mont' Kiara Bayu apartment
July 14, 2009 | Vetting explained
This video (raw) was taken this morning right from my balcony. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family in losing their precious 22-year old son of Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Koh Hong Sun, believed to be the white figure seen bending down at the balcony, attacked by tremendous heat and fire.
CLARIFICATION:
The writer from the newspaper which quoted me misunderstood on several details of what really happened to me, which i've forgiven him (no human is perfect, right?) but i do think there is a need to explain abit:
I WAS ALERTED WHEN I HEARD THE SIREN OF THE FIRE BRIGADE, THEN ONLY I TOOK OUT THE CAMERA AFTER I SAW THE FIRE OUT OF MY BALCONY. NOT IMMEDIATELY WHEN I WOKE UP AFTER 9AM FROM MY BEDROOM.
I WAS ALREADY AWAKE DURING THAT TIME AND HEADING TO THE KITCHEN FOR FINAL PREPARATION TO WORK, WHICH IS HAVING MY 5-MIN BREAKFAST WHEN I HEARD THE SIREN. IT IS RIDICULOUS IF I WAKE UP AT 9AM!
I feel there is a need to explain as some friends were asking me- why i did not call the 911? and obviously I woke up much earlier to allow plenty of time for preparation before i head to work.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
