Hallelujah Junction Fire
July 15, 2009 | Near Reno, Nevada | Vetting explained
Firefighters are battling large brush fires on U.S. Highway 395 near Reno, Nevada. At least ten fire trucks and two helicopters were on the scene. The helicopters were picking up water from a local creek and dropping it on the fires. There were no homes or structures visible from the highway, so it didn't look as though there was any property threatened. Traffic was able to move through without trouble. The black and white smoke against the red clay and cerulean sky made for artistic wildfire photos, as seen here.
