A Sliver of Civil Right Memorials - Atlanta, GA
August 15, 2009 | Atlanta, Georgia | Vetting explained
These few photos capture an important weekend I spent in Atlanta, Georgia, where I had the pleasure to see some of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s original works. His papers, the books he once flipped through, writings, sermons, scribbles, worries, cares, and personal struggles captured on paper were available for public viewing at the Atlanta History Museum before going to Morehouse University. No photos were allowed inside the areas where his works were posted obviously, but I took what I could outside :) I also visited Martin and Coretta's burial site, and felt honored to go inside the original Ebenezer church and feel the presence of him and his followers.
I know he is not the only pioneer in the Black civil rights movement - so I don't mean for these 10 pictures dedicated to his deeds to suggest such.
