Severe Weather Damage: Zeus in New York City
August 19, 2009 | New York, New York | Vetting explained
A severe storm ripped through Manhattan on Tuesday night, pulling down trees onto cars. Up by 89th between Columbus and Central Park West, a Tree lay flat across from the North to the South side of the street, where cars normally drive through at a relatively frequent rate. One witness thought that it had been struck by lightening "It looks like lightening hit it, because of the shape of the branches." she said.

The best iReports get vetted and used on CNN platforms.
The label “Not vetted by CNN” lets you know that this story hasn’t been both checked and cleared by a CNN editor.
iReport stories that have a red "CNN iReport" stamp in the corner have been vetted and
cleared. That means they've been selected and approved by a CNN producer to use on CNN,
on air, or on any of CNN's platforms.
