LUMIERE 2009 GRAND LYON FILM FESTIVAL

The first edition of the festival of cinema Lumiére 2009, which will be celebrated from October 13th to 18th, in all the French cities of the Great Lyons (38 cinemas and 15 associate places), will produce honoring to the Italian filmmaker Sergio Leone, with a complete retrospective of all his movies, in new and restored copies.
The Festival also will dedicate a cycle to the director Don Siegel.
Clint Eastwood will be the special guest of the festival, as godfather of both retrospectives.
Organized by the Institute Lumiére, whose president is the filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier, this festival will project important movies of the history of the cinema, Approximately hundred movies will be exhibited in different cycles and thematic sections, and will be presented by artists and personalities, to help to transmit the love for the cinema.
The evening of Lumiére's opening 2009 will be on Tuesday, the 13th from October, in presence of numerous personalities of the cinema. An exceptional evening in the only place, the Plaza Tony Garnier, transformed for the occasion in a gigantic cinema.
