iReport —

I was at "The Oink Joint" today where Drew Barrymore filmed scenes from Her upcoming movie "Whip It"  I spoke with owners Dave and Ann Rheaune, who tell me Drew actually named their 50's style restaurant and that they actually got the place on 9/11 of last year. They tell me that the crew spent about a month filming here and that they changed the whole inside of the restaurant for the movie. They also had a huge pink pig that sat on the roof. The pig is not there now ,however, it is in the city of Frankenmuth. They are waiting for the movies Producer's to decide what they want to do with it. Dave and Ann would like to see it come back to them and back on the roof. They think that is where it belongs as Drew named the restaurant and filmed there. The story is set in Texas. The Oink Joint is located in Birch Run Michigan. Dave and Ann will be holding the Grand Opening on October 10, 2009.10AM- 8PM. They will be having a car show as well as 50's style waitresses wearing roller skates. They will be showing the film Whip It at dusk. When I was at the restaurant, people were gearing up for the car show and parade to be held in Frankenmuth, Michigan, were they will be having a huge parade. Also starring with Drew are, Juliet Lewis and Kristen Wiig.
The directorial debut of Drew Barrymore, stars Ellen Page (Juno) as Bliss, a rebellious Texas teen who throws in her small town beauty pageant crown for the rowdy world of roller derby. Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River, Pollock) plays Bliss disapproving mother, while Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live) and Juliette Lewis (Old School) play roller-derby stars.
In Theaters October 2!

*The movie was filmed in Michigan

In the trailor you can see them sitting in The Oink Joint. Here are two videos, one behind the scenes.
