Baby Turtles Begin Emerging From Nest
September 13, 2009 | Destin, Florida | Vetting explained
On the beaches along the coastline in Destin, Florida, baby turtles begin to hatch. This nest had 101 eggs and had been protected for around 80-90 days. Fifty nine baby turtles made it to the Gulf on a dark rainy night. Hopefully they will swim away and find safety before larger fish begin to consume them. These turtles definitely made it to the water without being eaten by birds.
