Bo Diddley - A Legend, a Memory.
June 9, 2008 | Boston, Massachusetts | Vetting explained
My first meeting with Bo was back in I believe 1989 in Boston. The show was absolutely fantastic with Bo hitting all the songs I wanted to hear. I was standing in the front row, leaning on the stage admiring the master guitarist. He was dancing and enjoying every moment. I was just amazed and honored to see him so close. His hands were quite worn from playing hard for so many years. He was wrapping the "Bo-Diddley Beat " and I was really getting down with the music, then his pick broke. He could see me enjoying the music and walked right over to me, handing me his broken pick. He told me "enjoy the memories" and to this day it was one of the most exciting moments in my life. I have this pick along with the ticket stub and review from the Globe in a frame. Bo, you are the man! The music will live on forever.
